The modern film landscape keeps putting out a kind of movie that inspires a mix of bemused mockery, vitriolic hatred, and unabashed horror. It’s probably still best exemplified by Ready Player One, but there are plenty of examples these days. Films built around references and cameos beyond even the most shameless MCU property, where fans are expected to laugh and clap whenever they see a familiar face. Disney has fallen prey to this mistake before, and they’re going back in with a purpose in round two....

—–SPOILER WARNING—– For those that might not yet be high enough power to complete the raid (or even the first boss encounter), the basic story of the endgame encounter involves slaying Riven, an Ahamkara, and taking its heart. But as it turns out, defeating Riven is exactly what the dragon wanted. Upon completion by Clan Redeem, a new cutscene appeared while loading into the Dreaming City, with Petra Venj wrestling with the fact that she opened the gates to the Awoken homeworld and sent the Guardians after Riven....

In its weekly blog, Bungie responded to the complaints and outlined the intention for Masterwork Cores, the problems that have arisen since the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken, and how the developer plans to solve those problems with a future update. Bungie explained that the intent for making Masterwork Cores a part of Infusion was to make Infusion a more important choice for players. With a rarer material being required to bring gear up to new Power levels, Bungie had hoped that it would change Infusion from how it has worked in Year 1....

As for gameplay, Destiny 2 mixes abilities and weapons, elements and subclasses, aspects and fragments, and all this is brought together by the use of mods and build-defining Exotic items. The whole process of fine-tuning a character is not something that’s just a side element in Destiny 2, but rather it can elevate the players’ performances to another level with the correct combinations and effective build choices. However, the mod system in the game is not something that Bungie explains in full detail with tutorials or the likes, making it tough for new players to fully immerse themselves into this game-changing aspect of Destiny 2....

The receipt itself, which can be seen on Twitter, is apparently from the Hannover branch of GameStop, and shows the pre-order for the Destiny 2 Limited Edition PC version, which comes in at €110 (or $119). According SenSnowy, the pre-order receipt also indicates a release date of September 17, although employees at the GameStop apparently stated that this is just a placeholder date. In a follow-up post, SenSnowy also showed the bottom of the receipt, which confirmed the pre-order availability of Destiny 2 alongside other upcoming games such as FIFA 18, Tekken 7, and Red Dead Redemption 2....

Gambit and The Drifter was introduced to Destiny 2 as part of 2018’s Forsaken expansion, pitting two teams of guardians against each other in the game’s take on competitive co-op. The two teams are dropped into zones to kill enemies, collect motes, and bank them in a race to summon and kill a boss enemy to win. However, a player from the opposing team is able to invade after a set amount of motes have been banked to try and slow down the opposing team’s progress....

Unlike anti-Champion gear, elemental shields and corresponding elemental damage weapons have been around since the launch of the game. Elemental shields are what motivated players to include Void, Solar, or Arc in their builds before concepts like status effects on weapons and major buildcrafting via mods were introduced and normalized. With the new changes to the enemy’s elemental shields and the removal of the Match Game modifier, builds and loadouts in Destiny 2 are becoming a lot more accessible and unrestricted....

A new release by author Victoria Rosenthal, who also wrote Fallout: The Vault Dweller’s Official Cookbook, brings a variety of recipes based on Destiny 2’s iconic weapons and items. Destiny: The Official Cookbook features some fan-favorite recipes, such as the Tower-renowned Spicy Ramen, as well as cookies from The Dawning event, and even some exciting cocktails based on exotic weaponry. According to Rosenthal, Eva Levante has “traveled around the world after the events of the Red War, gathering a variety of recipes after crossing paths with many Guardians along the way and learning from their adventures....

Previously, the Witch Queen’s throne world weapons were destination-specific guns only available in the throne world destination of Destiny 2. These weapons were highly sought after by players due to their unique visual designs and unique traits. The Lightfall expansion seems to continue this trend by introducing new destination-specific weapons that are similarly themed. Part of the allure of these themed weapons will undoubtedly be the patterned versions of these guns that players will be able to craft themselves after enough collecting....

Another part of that equation looks to be the audio mix, which is tuned completely different from Destiny 2’s non-competitive modes. In those activities, like story missions, raids, and strikes, the sounds of allies take priority over enemies. But according to Bungie’s Head of Audio, Jay Weinland, that gets completely flipped in PvP: Weinland says that the audio team works hard to design the soundscape of PvP to allow the guns in the players hands to feel and sound appropriately visceral....

Many fans speculate that this hidden Destiny 2 quest will start up at the end of the Solstice of Heroes event, as the quest icon in the database shows the Solstice sun logo. The quest may also go live in the week between Solstice of Heroes and the launch of Forsaken, since Bungie may need to give players something to work toward while they finish prepping for the launch of the next big expansion....

Ever since Season of the Hunt, which was released alongside Beyond Light in November of last year, one of Destiny 2’s most relevant characters has been the resurrected Uldren Sov - Crow. Uldren’s resurrection as a Guardian was teased a long time ago, and it didn’t come into play in terms of actual story content prior to the aforementioned Season of the Hunt, and it reached a climax in Season of the Lost....

The reveal stream also gave players a look at the new glaive weapon, which also introduces weapon crafting into the Destiny franchise. Unlike every other piece of gear, players will need to craft this weapon through gameplay events, helping give it a bit more meaning than simply finding it on the ground. Unfortunately, no other details were given surrounding weapon crafting or how players acquire materials, though it may involve numerous quest steps similar to the armor transmog feature....

Rumors regarding Destiny 3 removing Crucible surfaced after several members of the Bungie development team announced their departures. Specifically, Josh Hamrick and Jon Weisnewski announced they were leaving Bungie after lengthy stints at the company, and some focus on Crucible gameplay. While it’s entirely possible that both devs were moving on to other projects because they wanted to try something fresh and new, Destiny fans tried to put a different spin on things....

Today, Bungie discussed changes coming to the Crucible and the game’s “sandbox,” or the balance of weapons, subclasses, and how certain mechanics of the the gameplay work. Here’s a list of the major changes coming in the April Update: Increasing Crucible Rewards Fans have noticed a lack of loot drops post-match in the Crucible, especially since the launch of The Taken King. In the April Update, Bungie will increasing the drop rate for Legendary loot after a PvP match....

Bungie’s community manager David Dague, also known as DeeJ, tells fans on Bungie’s forums that the developer is constantly working on the issue of matchmaking in Destiny: DeeJ also pointed out the influx of activity on the Bungie.net forums, which seem to be coalescing into some sort of formal protest, would better be focused in communicating clearly the reasons fans want change: DeeJ also encouraged the Destiny community that they “have never had a stronger internal champion” in the community management team and ensure them that fans are “a part of the conversation at Bungie....

Swords are a heavy weapon in Destiny first introduced in The Taken King, but it is a weapon class that some would argue doesn’t get enough love. There are only really three sword types available and they are all specific to a single quest, with no PvP-specific swords or raid-specific swords available in the game. Well, that hasn’t stopped a few talented fans from creating a concept for an Iron Banner version....

Beating Aksis in Wrath of the Machine is unlike any boss fight in Destiny thus far. It introduces new mechanics, new concepts, and it requires strong communication. Like any Destiny raid, callouts will be essential for beating Aksis in Wrath of the Machine, but players will also need to be well geared. The Recommended Light Level The recommended level for beating Aksis is 380, which is 10 levels higher than the recommendation for starting the raid so hopefully players have prepared ahead of time....

Not only will Destiny’s Iron Banner include the aforementioned firearms as rewards, but it also will bring about some wide-reaching changes. For starters, Bungie is assuring fans that there will be better drop rates for loot. Plus, one of the biggest amendments involves the use of Clash as its PvP mode instead of Control. The additional alterations the studio is introducing to the contest are as follows: Iron Banner reputation from winning matches increased by 20 Activity completion rewards increased at all ranks, with even more significant increases at Rank 2 and above Packages from Lord Saladin upon reaching Rank 3 and Rank 5 Iron Banner Artifacts can be obtained from the Rank 3 package Iron Banner Ghost Shells can be obtained from the Rank 5 package or activity completion rewards...

Even so, it’s fair to say there are plenty of players who are fine with the idea of cosmetic microtransactions in Destiny. Since the current plan is only to sell emotes (and potentially sparrow skins), there isn’t too much to be worried about. In fact, some players say they would even pay a little extra if it meant unlocking a dance like The Carlton, for example. Well, those players are in luck, as Destiny has today previewed a few of their upcoming paid emotes and wouldn’t you know, the Carlton Dance is included....
