Bungie explained this decision to rework the subclass abilities in its weekly blog post just before Season 19, detailing its intent to normalize the power of the subclasses to provide a more standard baseline that can be used for future tuning. They further explained that this would affect the outliers on the high and low end of the subclasses, including Stasis. Season 19 has already seen reworks to the game, especially in Destiny 2’s Crucible’s PvP, which seems to fuel some subclass changes....

While Destiny 2 fans have been aware of the Hive hierarchy, at least since the Dark Below released for the first game, understanding the greater intricacies of Darkness agents has been minimal. The Vow of the Disciple raid begins to flesh out what’s happening behind the scenes and shows how the Hive haven’t been acting alone in their campaign of domination across the universe. While the introduction of Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness has major implications for how the Darkness operates in Destiny 2, the impact of Disciples shouldn’t be limited to just what players experience within the Vow of the Disciple raid....

In a Tweet Sunday night, Bungie made it known to all Destiny 2 players that The Whispers exotic quest is closing early prior to the normal weekly reset that happens on each Tuesday. While that may disappoint some players who didn’t get a chance to make an attempt after it was only just discovered a couple days ago, the Twitter also makes it clear that the quest line will be back sometime next week....

Usually, Destiny 2’s Seraph Tower demands that players infuse six different Polar Charges with the ball of the central tower to complete it. However, the trick pointed out by Reddit user Ledian00 lowers the threshold of Polar Charges needed. Anyone that doesn’t have it will have to obtain it by chance....

The footage below is taken from the PS4 Pro at the Destiny 2 Gameplay Reveal event and runs at a stable 30 FPS, with only one dropped frame during the test. As far as framerate goes, Digital Foundry called the performance of Destiny 2 “basically the same” as Destiny, which is also locked at 30 FPS on console. More than anything, the testers called Destiny 2 a “refinement of preexisting visual effects,” meaning an improvement in wet, shiny objects and textures appearing more realistic as compared to Destiny 1....

When the quest to earn it first went live last Friday, fans did not even think of it as a quest that would only be live for a limited time, but late Sunday night Bungie tweeted that the quest would in fact be unavailable the following Monday morning. Bungie also promised in the tweet that the quest would return the following week. After hearing that, players suspected that it would return on Friday based on the fact that the quest was first discovered last Friday....

That’s not to say some things have not been revealed already, especially when it comes to the upcoming rework of Swords. While the alterations to Swords will be game changing for many Destiny 2 players, the upcoming Armor changes sound much more universally beneficial without any serious drawbacks. Bungie aims this Destiny 2 expansion to bring a campaign experience resembling the likes of Doom and Titanfall 2. The expansion will introduce Savathun’s Lucent Brood, a new, light-wielding enemy type, and players will be able to take them on with four new exotics coming to the game. Along with Lightfall and Beyond Light, The Witch Queen was announced during a major Bungie livestream where the studio revealed its plans for Destiny 2’s foreseeable future. This trilogy of expansions will shift the game to a more “true” MMO state and hopefully usher in a new age for Bungie’s shooter, so here is where Destiny 2 must improve in the near future to stay healthy. In a Twitch livestream that took place yesterday, Bungie explained that now that it is no longer owned by Activision, Destiny 2 on PC needs to “find a new home.” Destiny 2 PC had launched on Battle.net, the PC game launcher created by Blizzard, which is one of Activision’s game studios. The big announcement was that Destiny 2 PC is going to be available on Steam, but game director Luke Smith couldn’t resist trolling fans, just for a moment....

Catapult - Grenade recharge rate is greatly increased. Grounded - Players take more damage while airborne. Grenade Kill Bonus - Grenade kills are worth more points. It all comes down to Catapult being active with Grenade Kill Bonus, as it will allow for extremely quicker recharge on all grenades. As per usual, players will be able to use the same general strategy to clear Challenge of the Elders. Players will want to clear each wave of enemies using grenade kills only (as much as possible) and then damage the boss to spawn in a new wave....

The unique modifiers this week are: Grounded - Players take more damage while airborne. Juggler - No ammo drops for your equipped weapon. Precision Kill Bonus - Precision kills are worth more points. Players will be able to use the same general strategy as usual. This is also one of the easier weeks because players will be able to get precision kills with basically any weapon or subclass of their choice....

A Reddit user going by the name DeafSpaceWizardry made a post late last night describing his experience. Following a Rumble match in the Crucible, he received a message from another Guardian suggesting that he shouldn’t use the much-vaunted Thorn hand cannon in the mode, and instead should simply dismantle it. The message itself was innocuous enough — it seemed that the player was either venting their hurt feelings after underperforming in the Rumble match, or they were simply trying to offer some advice....

While Bungie doesn’t cite any one reason for the split with Activision, it does acknowledge that the industry has rapidly changed in the eight years since 2010 when the contract was initially signed. A newly independent studio launching a game the size of Destiny required an established publishing partner. Now, however, Bungie believes that it’s capable of moving the franchise forward on its own. There’s clearly much left to detail about Bungie and Activision’s split going forward....
