For all these reasons, Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary Pack is a great way to commemorate all of Bungie’s work over all these years. The developer is known for its work on titles like Pathways Into Darkness, Myth, and Marathon, but also for being the company that changed the history of gaming with Halo: Combat Evolved and all its sequels, now handed over to 343 Industries. As for Destiny 2, Bungie did an incredible job with the 30th Anniversary Pack’s contents - namely, the Dares of Eternity 6-player activity and the 3-player Dungeon called Grasp of Avarice....

Starting next week on February 4th, the Tower obelisk will be the location where the Empyrean Foundation is focused, with players donating the seasonal material Polarized Fractaline toward an effort to rise through seven stages of increasing amounts of donated Polarized Fractaline. If all seven stages are reached, a shader will be unlocked for every player in the game. Those who contribute 5,000 or more Polarized Fractaline will also earn a Triumph and an emblem....

Seasonal activities allow players to access new story content, face unique challenges, and unlock gear, with each Season split into two facets: free-to-play and premium content. With 100 tiers divided between free-to-play and premium, the bonuses for both can be seen under the Season Tab in the Director menu. Furthermore, each Season has challenges that change weekly, which grant players additional XP, Mods, Currency, Rank, Weapons, and Armor. For players to participate in all Seasonal content, they must purchase a Season Pass, which gives them access to the duration of the current Season running roughly 10 weeks....

Activision didn’t reveal any additional details about Destiny 2’s new game mode, but it’s interesting that it said the mode is new to the FPS genre. This could indicate that it is a game mode that gamers have seen in a different kind of game, but we’ll have to wait for more information to be sure. Luckily, Destiny 2 fans likely won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what this new game mode entails....

Destiny 2 and Destiny 1 are scheduled to go offline on Monday, September 30th at 10 a.m. PDT and stay offline across all platforms until 10 a.m. PDT on October 1st when Shadowkeep will officially release. In addition to not being able to access the game itself, players will also be unable to sign into Bungie.net or any third-party apps that use the Destiny API. First, when players first log in to Destiny 2 today, they will be greeted by the cinematic that was released this summer at Gamescom as the trailer for Season of the Undying. Then they will automatically be flown into the Tower. If the players check the Director, they will see that the Vex Offensive activity is now there, but requires the Eyes on the Moon to be completed first. It all starts with this quest....

To make things even better, Bungie released Season of the Risen as the accompanying seasonal content for The Witch Queen. Season of the Risen is now considered one of the best Destiny 2 releases since Bungie adopted the seasonal model, and the reason is that it ties into the themes of The Witch Queen, and also it has a great story that concluded after only four weeks, as opposed to Season of the Lost....

While Bungie announced that it is reversing course and stopping its plans for sunsetting in the future, the company continues to forge ahead with numerous plans to continue evolving the experience. In addition to things like crossplay, new content, and other balancing efforts, the studio continues to work on smaller quality of life changes such as armor transmog. Mods have also received a lot of changes over the years, first with the Armor 2....

Unfortunately, The Dawning also kicked off more fan unrest over what many are seeing as predatory microtransaction policies with regards to Eververse and the new Dawning gear. Much of the loot is locked behind the Eververse paywall, either requiring that players spend large amounts of Bright Dust currency or purchase premium currency to unlock it faster. Things got so bad that the community took over the forums on the official Bungie website posting messages saying that Eververse should be removed....

While speaking to Games Radar, Smith talked about how the first Destiny was not very accommodating to the casual player. By that he means players needed to devote a significant amount of time to the experience in order to see everything and know what exactly to do at any given moment. According to Smith, Bungie will make Destiny 2 more compatible with real life. How specifically the developer plans to do that is unclear, but the director suggests that players won’t need to go to outside sources to gain guidance....

At the time, the idea of a black Gjallarhorn was enough for most players to pre-order Destiny: Rise of Iron, but what many missed was Bungie’s explanation of how players would actually receive the exotic rocket launcher. Like Sleeper Simulant and Black Spindle before it, Gjallarhorn was to be an exotic weapon quest. But the key thing to point out here is that the Iron Gjallarhorn is given to the player right from the start of Rise of Iron....

Although Bungie went out of its way to make sure that Destiny felt seasonal for the next week or two, one group has decided to take things a step further and use the tools that the game provides to create a bizarre Halloween-themed music video. By combining in-game holiday items like special helmets, emotes, and weapons; the group created an impressive and hilarious music video to celebrate the holiday....

Of course, the entirety of the game being reliant on its shared online universe means that players will not be able to play Destiny between 8AM PST and 12PM PST. While this isn’t a huge span of time, and it’s perhaps the best time of day to undergo such measures, there will almost certainly be some fans who are perturbed by the fact that their game is unavailable to them....

A new television series, WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures, recently premiered on American network A&E. The show features WWE legends traveling across America in search of lost memorabilia from their careers. Speaking in an Entertainment Tonight video, WWE’s Chief Brand Officer discussed several items that are stored in WWE’s warehouse. One of those items is The Rock’s Brahma Bull Championship, which was supposed to appear on television during his legendary feud with Steve Austin....

For those who don’t know, Hypercharge: Unboxed, developed by Digital Cybercherries, is a first-person shooter featuring different toys as playable characters and enemies. The game mixes tower-defense with wave-based shooting, and players get to enjoy different PvE and PvP modes. Players are tasked with defending a HYPER-CORE, which is something that apparently keeps the toys alive. The game brings to mind other toy games like Toy Soldiers or Army Men....

Back in July 2020, the person behind Protoculture games, Tristan Chapman, publicly claimed that they hadn’t been paid for the work they had done on Devil Engine and was thus prevented from releasing any additional content for the game. Fast forward to January 11th, 2021 when the teams released a joint statement saying they had “resolved their issues to mutual satisfaction” and it seemed the troubles had passed and it was time for Devil Engine to take its rightful place as one of 2019’s best, if most overlooked, games....

The Special Edition version was announced in December last year and will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC(via Steam). Besides Dante, the game will feature three more non-playable characters, namely Devil May Cry 3’s Vergil, Trish, and Lady. The game will also include dual English and Japanese-language voice tracks for those who don’t like the English dubs. And Xbox One and PS4 owners will also have a chance to try out the Legendary Knight mode....

According to Capcom, the version of Devil May Cry HD Collection for PC, PS4, and Xbox One will have run at 60 frames per second in 1080p resolution. This is an upgrade from the 2012 release, which ran at 60fps in just 720p resolution. While this upgrade will undoubtedly be appreciated by fans, some may be disappointed to learn that the game will not support 4K resolution visuals. It’s somewhat surprising that Capcom didn’t add 4K support for Devil May Cry HD Collection to sweeten the pot....

Other notable figures to receive the honor are Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo, manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, and Sazae-san creator Machiko Hasegawa. Plenty of notable names outside of the manga and anime industry have been given the award as well. Martial Artist Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of aikido, received the award in 1960, while celebrated biologist Kono Yasui received it in 1955 for her various academic accomplishments.
