The awards ceremony was more than happy to give Fallout 4 top prize over the competition. The show, which is organized by The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, picked the title over a number of other hugely successful titles, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Super Mario Maker. In spite of that stiff opposition, Bethesda walked away with the much-lauded Game of the Year trophy. It wasn’t the only category where Fallout 4 proved to be top dog, either....

Appearing in a CNN interview with anchor Brooke Baldwin, Dr. Jonathan Reiner says he has spoken with a source inside the White House, but their claim that Saturday’s trip was a “routine” visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that they had been “thinking about for a while” doesn’t add up. “There was no sophisticated testing done. It’s a little bit unusual,” said Reiner. “Almost everything that is usually done in a presidential physical like this, can be done in the White House at the White House medical unit....

Carroll’s stunning volley, a goal of the season contender, wrapped up the points for West Ham, but the striker is a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough as a result of his injury. Mourinho stalked by crazy fan Bilic is hoping Carroll, who has scored three goals in the 2016-17 campaign, will recover in time to play at the Riverside Stadium. “He’s got a whiplash injury, that’s what I was told from the physios,” Bilic told Sky Sports News....

Fashion is an important component of Destiny 2, to the point that, in the past, players would use better-looking armor over items that were better in terms of stats. This is fortunately not an issue anymore now that the Armor Synthesis feature is in the game, and players can now virtually unlock any armor piece in Destiny 2 as a universal ornament to use for their looks. This is a great change, and it allows players to make good use of ornaments to make any look possible - even turning their characters into those of other franchises....

During the livestream, the new armor mod system was highlighted. Currently, armor rolls with perks as well as an empty mod slot that players can customize. With Armor 2.0, perks are being replaced by more mod slots that can be changed on-the-fly, and many of the perks currently found on armor will be converted into mods. However, it seems that certain mods will be tied to a specific element, and can only be slotted into armor that is attuned to that element....

Because it’s easy to generate Void Elemental Wells with Void 3.0, many players ended up using Volatile Flow as a seasonal mod, which makes clearing adds a breeze with fast-firing Void weapons. As such, Destiny 2 players discovered how powerful the Funnelweb SMG is thanks to it being a 900 RPM gun that can roll with good general perks and the new Veist Stinger Origin Trait. However, the recently datamined SMG for 2022’s edition of Guardian Games seems like an incredible contender for Funnelweb’s niche because of its perk pool and a unique Origin Trait....

However, for most players, the most exciting news for Season 14 is Destiny 2’s version of a transmog system. While Bungie refers to this system as Armor Synthesis, players will once again be able to visit Ada-1 at the tower to start creating new universal ornaments. While fans are thrilled that this long requested system is finally being implemented, how this new transmog system was implemented has been a sore spot with the community as to really maximize it, players will likely need to spend real money....

According to Senior Gameplay Designer at Bungie, Jon Weisnewski, changing the weapons slots in Destiny 2 was something that caused a lot of similar skepticism internally at Bungie during development, even from key leadership on the game: So, it sounds like the change to Destiny’s weapon slots went through a lot of discussion and work before making it into the game. Weisnewski said he always believed in the change, but that there was plenty of doubt that the new weapon slots may not be accepted, and could even be rejected entirely....

Beyond Light was highly anticipated among fans since it was rumored to be substantially bigger than Shadowkeep, which not only reused previous Destiny content but also entered development while the studio split from its partner, Activision. When the split happened, Bungie said that moving forward, it would publish Destiny 2 on its own and no longer sign exclusivity deals, like it had done previously with companies like Sony. Thus, Beyond Light will be the first ever Destiny installment developed and published solely by Bungie....

The HELM itself is seemingly staying, but core functionalities provided by the seasonal vendors - Mithrax’s Splicer Servitor and Mara Sov - will be removed, as well as the Umbral Decoder and the Prismatic Recaster. These two are primarily used to decrypt Umbral Engrams either with random results or with a controlled outcome in terms of what sort of weapons and armor pieces can drop, respectively. Because both the Umbral Decoder and the Prismatic Recaster are being vaulted, but Umbral Engrams are going to stay, this poses the question as to what the purpose of Umbral Engrams will be when Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen expansion launches....

YouTuber GoneZero has cut together a nice set of videos that place emotes in action next to their source material. While not all of them are dance emotes, most of them are. They’re typically the only ones that contain references people might not understand. There are two videos in the series, and they show the origins of everything from Funky Dance to Smooth Dance. Viewers will also see where the Confused and Hold On emotes came from, if they didn’t know already....

During its latest quarterly financial briefing, Activision revealed that Destiny 2 will get a “continuous calendar of events following the expansion pass." While the company didn’t disclose exactly what these events may entail, it suggests that developer Bungie will have plenty in store for players, in addition to the two confirmed expansion packs which will be available. Additionally, Activision confirmed that the first of these Destiny 2 expansion packs will be available by winter, while the second of these should be available in spring 2018....

Veteran Destiny 2 players will know that Bungie often ends up hiding a few tidbits of lore in unexpected places with DLC and Season releases, and Witch Queen is no exception. The message in question is rather cryptic overall - which is par the course for Destiny lore - but it clearly references the ancient Leviathan of Fundament, an ancient creature of Light from the so-called Books of Sorrow....

That being said, the Bungie Weekly Update did provide another useful avenue for the developer to address gamer concerns. Now that the cat is out of the bag with regards to exotic upgrades, loot drops, and story content, Bungie has the opportunity to provide a little more clarity to those concerned gamers out there. First and foremost, Bungie wanted to address Destiny fans’ questions about the new exotic upgrading system that was revealed this week....

Here are the top-tier weapons fans may want to pick up before they are gone: 7 Hawksaw Where to get it: Crucible Quartermaster for 150 Legendary Marks Reason to get it: The Taken King firmly set up a pulse rifle meta, making it the most consistent and deadly primary weapon class in the game. It quickly became clear that Hawksaw was one of the best in class. But in December, pulse rifles received a nerf severely affecting the high and mid-impact archetypes....

Pick Up The Quest The “Speed Kills” quest will become available at Amanda Holliday after hitting Rank 2 in Sparrow Racing League reputation. If it hasn’t appeared for you, be sure to play some SRL and pick up the associated daily bounties to rep up faster. Kill Splicers in the Plaguelands The first step to the quest is to kill Devil Splicers in the Plaguelands. This can be done anywhere: on Patrol, Archon’s Forge, or even Story Missions that take place in the Plaguelands....

To get the most out of Challenge of the Elders, players need to pick up an Elders’ Sigil from Variks in the Reef. This is a scorecard that will track all of a player’s runs for that week. Each character can pick one up, so if a player has alts, that means three Elders’ Sigil cards per week. That results in three weapons and three armor pieces that can drop at up to 335 Light....

Although Bungie didn’t reveal which of Destiny’s Guardian subclasses would have been able to utilize the exploit, the game’s developers did give a hearty thanks to those fans who found the problem and privately forwarded it to the studio. Perhaps as an even greater nod of appreciation, however, Bungie could offer these honest and discreet players with free personalized swag all their own for saving the company the headache of having to deal with an upset community while fixing the problem at the same time....

Original story follows. Thousands of Destiny players are currently unable to access either game in Bungie’s popular looter-shooter franchise. The problems with the Destiny servers started the morning of Saturday, January 22, and seem to be impacting both the original Destiny game as well as Destiny 2. Bungie is aware of the issues and working on a fix, but has not provided a timetable for when fans will be able to access the servers again....
