For those who aren’t in the know, Valor and Glory are two separate measurements of a player’s experience in Destiny 2’s competitive modes. In the live version of the game, playing in the “Quick Play” playlist will earn players Valor, and jumping into the “Competitive” playlist will put your Glory on the line. Valor (a general measure of a player’s time playing the game) can only ever go up, with players earning more for wins and less for losses....

Many Destiny 2 players are currently awaiting the newest upcoming expansion, Beyond Light, but those who’ve been playing the game for a while may remember Shadowkeep, which released almost a year ago, and Forsaken, which has been out now for over two years. In Forsaken, players were introduced to the Dreaming City, where players could complete the Last Wish raid and enter codes to get special prizes. Datamining reveals fifteen codes, but players have only been able to find and unlock fourteen in these two years....

This also applies to other types of activities, such as Legend and Master Lost Sectors, as they feature many Champions and hard-hitting enemies. Destiny 2’s Legend Lost Sectors are inherently easier than their Master counterparts, and that’s both because of the Power Level required and the fact that their modifiers tend to be less punishing. Still, completing them is very important for those players who either want to complete their Exotic armor collection on a specific character, or those who want to farm for better rolls on a selection of Exotics....

Unfortunately, the game has recently come over a bit of controversy regarding these two exotics. While the Star-Eater Scales were ultimately banned from the first 24 hour World’s First Vault of Glass Raid contest, Bungie then released a new hot fix this week which ultimately reduced the effectiveness of both exotics. For the Star-Eater Scales, not only was the increased damage bonus for weapons and grenades a bug that was not fixed, but the stacks required to get a super damage bonus was doubled from four to eight....

Those who played through the first installment of the series know that the Hive has always been one of the most powerful and terrifying enemies of humanity. Guardians managed to defeat Oryx, and Destiny 2 seems to be focused on defeating his sisters Xivu Arath and Savathun. However, Savathun appears to be a very complex character, and it’s likely her shifting allegiance with the Light will have some effect on her, possibly to the point that players won’t have to consider her an enemy going forward....

However, while the previous season was met with considerable aplomb, the 14th season of Destiny 2 has not been as well-received so far. While the roadmap promises plenty of new content both in weekly and daily doses, another change seems to have gone through much more quietly. This roadmap was shared during today’s Destiny 2 Season of Dawn reveal stream, and it can be viewed in its entirety below. While not all of the entries on the Destiny 2 Season of Dawn roadmap are fully detailed, this calendar should give fans a solid sense of the content that they can expect to encounter over the next several months. Among them, there is a specific Raid Exotic weapon hasn’t been given too much attention from players, and its design might prevent it from ever shining properly in any activity outside of Gambit. This is the Eyes of Tomorrow rocket launcher, an Exotic heavy weapon that’s mainly designed to defeat multiple smaller enemies in a single volley rather than tackling big baddies and dish out tons of damage. Yet, Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary Pack is coming with another emblematic Exotic rocket launcher in the form of Gjallarhorn, which might end up doing everything Eyes of Tomorrow is designed to do but better....

These changes include the removal of major locations and storylines, as the Forsaken expansion is part of all the content getting vaulted when The Witch Queen launches, but there are also overhauls coming to many of Destiny 2’s systems. Destiny 2’s ammo economy has been addressed with infinite primary ammo, but even more weapon and armor changes are on the way. This includes significant changes to how players masterwork their gear....

After solving the Void Configuration, Arc Configuration, and Solar Configuration puzzles in the Zero Hour heroic mission, Destiny 2 players were rewarded with enough schematics to repair the mysterious ship from the mission. Named SCRAP CF-717-91, this Destiny 2 ship looks like a complete disaster but it also has its own personality. Instead of delivering a sleek ship with a cool design, Bungie went the other direction and some players are finding that funny in and of itself....

Much like the previous leak, the new information comes courtesy of screenshots of GameStop’s page for the DLC. The images show a description of the story for Destiny 2’s second expansion, concerning the possible disappearance and corruption of the Warmind Rasputin and the return of famous hunter Ana Bray to the Last City. The images also confirm an often rumored journey to Mars as well as a new area called the “Deep Stone Crypt....

Combat style mods are the most game-defining of the bunch, as they bring a new layer to the mechanics of Destiny 2, such as Elemental Wells, Charged with Light mods, and Warmind Cells. These groups of mods work best when players pick several, creating powerful combos that add a lot of potential to any build in terms of offense, defense, or utility. Adding a new group of combat style mods on top of the three existing ones would open up a lot of customization options when The Witch Queen expansion drops, as it is already bringing a lot of exciting elements....

Another example, albeit not confirmed to be a bug, is what happens when pairing the Necrotic Grip Exotic Warlock gloves with bottom tree Dawnblade. This is also a new interaction for Season of the Lost, and it makes Necrotic Grip spread the Dawnblade’s burn effects and explosions, for massive AoE damage and extreme add clear potential. Still, Destiny 2 also saw the introduction of a new Exotic recently, and that is Ager’s Scepter....

With the evolving nature of Destiny 2, Bungie has also detailed plans to revamp Faction Rallies in Season 3 based on player feedback. In order to try and spice the event up, Bungie is looking into ways to use the event to provide unique gameplay experiences instead of simply acting as a reward layer on top of the existing game. Final details have not been revealed, though the studio is looking into ways to not time-gate rewards, add faction lore into the game, as well as build new gameplay layers around armor ornaments and Lost Sector missions....

Naturally, loot and gear make up a large part of the Destiny experience and for this latest season, the Iron Banner has all new rewards and ornaments to collect. Unlike the Samurai-inspired gear of season 2, the latest Iron Banner gear has a more silver and green medieval sort of look to it this time around, with each class appearing to be a sort of knight. As usual, players can play the RNG game with Iron Banner tokens, or use them to purchase each piece directly from Saladin once certain conditions are met....

The exotic auto rifle Hard Light is one of those popular Destiny 2 weapons, but it is getting knocked down a peg in an update set to go live tomorrow. After players download Wednesday’s patch, Hard Light will be a little less strong in Crucible, with Bungie saying that some Season 10 changes made the exotic auto rifle a little too good. Next week, the rotation will reset back to week 1. But for now, here are the modifiers for this week: Brawler - Guardian melee damage is greatly increased. Chaff - Player radar is disabled. Super Kill Bonus - Super kills are worth more points. Players will be able to use the same general strategy used last time the Super Kill Bonus was active in Challenge of the Elders to drive up the score for this week....

After being on hiatus since September 6th, Trials of Osiris will start again on its weekly schedule tomorrow, September 30th at 10 a.m. Pacific. As always, Bungie is keeping the map selection a secret, so fans will find out at launch time. Could it be on one (or more) of the new maps added in Rise of Iron? It will not be on Icarus or Sector 618 as those are PlayStation exclusives....

Well, players won’t need to wait much longer as Bungie has announced that Trials of Osiris will return in two weeks, albeit with some changes. Brother Vance will welcome players back into the ultra-competitive Trials of Osiris on Friday, October 16, just a few days after the return of Destiny’s other timed PvP event, Iron Banner. All the rules that have defined Trials of Osiris in the past remain, but it might be harder to make that coveted journey to the Lighthouse with the changes Bungie is introducing....
