It seems Bungie wasn’t satisfied with the new system either, according to the latest This Week at Bungie blog post. The Destiny 2 developer revealed that Trials of Osiris is returning to the card-based system when the event returns on November 12th. One of the recent updates that were secretly added into Destiny 2 involved The Drifter, a mysterious character introduced earlier in the game’s lifetime and has been growing more important in recent seasons. Considering the importance that has been levied on the character over the last several seasons, it isn’t unwarranted for Bungie to want to update the look of The Drifter moving forward. The big news from last week, however, was a roadmap of content that Bungie released, something which the developer has never really done before. In an effort to remain open and communicative with fans, the roadmap details tentative plans on not only new features, but many player requested changes are coming as well. Season 3 is set to kick off in May bringing with it many more significant changes, and the second expansion rumored to be called Gods of Mars....

While that news will no doubt disappoint some fans, Bungie is implementing a few new features for season 2’s Iron Banner. For many, the biggest draw of this event is the loot it brings and players can collect new weapons, emblems, ships, ghost shells, and samurai-inspired armor for each of the three classes. The biggest change comes with Saladin himself, as the Iron Lord now has gear for players to directly purchase, rather than relying on the engram and RNG system....

For most activities, the level of difficulty was largely governed by a specific number, typically generated from the level of the player’s gear currently equipped. Missions and activities would warn players that they should be a specific level before attempting due to the level of enemies and active modifiers to provide an extra level of challenge. Some activities such as the previously mentioned Raids and Nightfalls also came with their own difficulty modifiers like Grandmaster that could be selected prior to starting, typically adding new variables, modifiers, and enemy types, though giving players more rewards for over coming the difficulties....

GuardianCon is the fan-organized Destiny community convention that had its inaugural event last year in Tampa, Florida. Back then it was called Destiny Community Con, but its organizers quickly changed it to avoid any legal issues that could arise from the use of the name Destiny. GuardianCon is organized by popular Twitch streamers, Kevin “KMagic101” Murray, King Gothalion, and Professor Broman. Last year, during the week-long stream that involved streamers from all over the Destiny directory taking part, fans and supporters raised more than $500,000....

A recent post on Bungie’s website explains that the Crucible falls under Update 2.0’s changes as well. According to senior designer, Andrew Weldon, the popular multiplayer mode will now have a “Mercy Rule” added to matches. The developer likens Destiny’s new feature to the regulation found in traditional sports, wherein one team’s score is so high that their competition has no chance of mounting a comeback, so the game is called off....

But while this Lumina quest is the only announced exotic quest left for Season of Opulence, and by extension Destiny 2 Year 2, it might not be the last one waiting to unlock. Strong evidence suggests that there will be a new secret mission unlocked later this season that will send players on an adventure for Bad Juju. Bungie hasn’t confirmed anything at this point, but a source with close ties to the game claims that there will be another weapon quest like Zero Hour and Whisper....

If Nintendo does plan an all-encompassing cinematic Empire, then at first blush Detective Pikachu feels like an odd starting point. Sure, it’s Pokémon, but it’s based on a niche spin-off game that almost never left Japan, it’s got none of the collecting and battling that sits at the core of the series, and it breaks franchise rules by letting Pikachu talk. It’s rarely wise to bet against Nintendo though, and in retrospect this is the perfect first film: adult enough to appeal to grown-up fans of the originals, silly enough to draw in the kid crowd, and just about weird enough to stand out from the competition for either....
