Despite dropping hints and expressing interest in a sequel for the cult classic, the Swedish developer known for the Battlefield series has also been responsible for delays with the new Mirror’s Edge. Bach cites the studio’s difficulty settling on an idea good enough to pitch to EA, who have previously taken the brunt of fans’ frustration.

It seems a lot of time has been spent making sure the correct format has been nailed down. Considering previous statements that the new Mirror’s Edge could only be made for a next-gen system, DICE appears to have found something unique and exciting to give to fans of the original game. Still, not much is known about the reboot aside from talk of open-world gameplay and a focus on the Faith’s past.

With DICE stepping forward as the primary cause of internal delays and difficulty getting the Mirror’s Edge reboot off the ground, how might this change the perception of EA, its parent company? Despite not knowing much about the upcoming game, at least we know for sure that it’s on its way.
