Diablo Immortal, the free-to-play mobile game, is “on track” to meet its global 2021 release window according to a recent Activision Blizzard earnings report. While not all that surprising given the recent Diablo Immortal closed alpha that was held last month, this is the first confirmation that the game will be coming this year. This news coincides with the confirmation that the mobile title has entered its second phase of testing.

If Diablo Immortal is able follow through on the expected 2021 release, the game will arrive three years after its infamous announcement at BlizzCon 2018. The reveal of Diablo Immortal was met with a harsh negative response by fans in attendance as the game capped off the BlizzCon conference with a Q&A session.
While Diablo Immortal is still only “expected” to meet its intended release this year, the upcoming Diablo 2: Resurrected is confirmed for a 2021 launch on PC and consoles. The long rumored Diablo 2 remaster was officially announced earlier this year to the joy of fans who have long awaited the chance to relive one of Blizzard’s most beloved titles. While there is some hesitation following the highly criticized release of Warcraft 3: Reforged, many fans were happy to learn developer Vicarious Visions would be handling the remaster.
Diablo Immortal is expected to release on Android and iOS devices later this year.
