Diablo 3 Rise Of The Necromancer Dlc Price And Release Date Revealed

The heart of the Rise of the Necromancer DLC is the Necromancer class itself. The Necromancer is of parity with the other classes in Diablo 3. It features a robust selection of unique skills born of blood, bone, and poison akin to the archetype Blizzard established in Diablo 2. At launch, the Necromancer will also feature several unique sets which empower its abilities in rewarding ways. And, of course, the Necromancer will feature the same amount of story dialogue as other classes within the campaign.

Blizzard will be filling out the Rise of the Necromancer DLC pack with an assortment of other digital goodies. Here’s a list of what’s included, which can all be seen in the Necromancer Sizzle Reel trailer above, which also released today:

For hardcore Diablo 3 fans, the Rise of the Necromancer DLC pack  has a lot to offer. Since the game doesn’t offer microtransactions, digital goods like character slots and stash tabs come at a premium. For more casual Diablo 3 fans, a $15 price point may seem a bit excessive. The Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 currently only costs $20 after all, and features a robust selection of content including the Templar class.

Yet even at $15, the Rise of the Necromancer DLC should be a suitable swan song for Diablo 3. The inevitability of Blizzard moving forward from Diablo 3 should now be settling in. While the game is certain to keep receiving seasonal content and balance patches for the foreseeable future, everyone should see the writing on the wall. Just the absence of cross-game DLC like an Overwatch skin or Heroes of the Storm cosmetics in the Rise of the Necromancer DLC should show Diablo 3’s reaching the end of its days. Never discount a resurrection when there’s a Necromancer involved, however.

Diablo 3 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Rise of the Necromancer DLC pack will launch on all supported platforms on June 27.
