One of the PS4’s most exciting upcoming exclusive titles, Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human follows the story of androids attempting to integrate themselves into a society that clearly doesn’t want them to be a part of it. The cinematic trailer details an android police negotiator as he attempts to reason with an android that has gone rogue and abducted a little girl from the family he works for - or, as the android suggests, might be enslaved to.

Quantic Dream’s newest game appears to be a culmination of lessons the studio has learned from producing and developing games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. The trailer, which is purely cinematic and doesn’t appear to contain any gameplay, heavily implies that the game will be narratively driven in the same way that the other titles were, and that gamers will be forced to make difficult choices over the course of Detroit: Become Human if they want to walk away from the title satisfied with what they’ve achieved.
Still, Detroit: Become Human is the latest in a long line of games that have bucked the trend of needing flashy, innovative gameplay to succeed, and it’s still not clear exactly what changes Quantic Dream is bringing to the game. Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain got PS4 re-releases because they made such a huge impact on gamers when they were released - Detroit: Become Human looks poised to do the same, and E3 2016 did nothing but reinforce that belief in fans.
Detroit: Become Human is a PS4 exclusive, and a release date has yet to be announced.
