In fact, the DLC will come with new content and release on December 7, and it will act as a mid Season sandbox patch to boot. Bungie already announced that Vex Mythoclast from Vault of Glass will be receiving a nerf, and so will Dunemarchers, a dominating Titan Exotic in the Crucible and Trials of Osiris. Of course, the patch will include some buffs as well, and Destiny 2 players are excited for what’s coming for Fighting Lion after it was butchered with the ammo economy changes.

Another buff might have flown under the radar for Destiny 2 players, and that’s one for a long-standing weapon that’s been in and out of the meta for a long time - Whisper of the Worm. The sniper rifle was extremely potent in Year 1 of Destiny 2, and with a few changes, it then became close to useless when compared to better options in the Heavy slot. However, the TWAB from yesterday teased buffs for this iconic sniper rifle coming with the 30th Anniversary Pack by italicizing a bit of text saying “whispers.”

The news rapidly spread within the community and it has many fans thrilled about it, even though the weapon is still lacking a way to obtain its catalyst ever since The Whisper mission was vaulted. Thus, newer players or those who didn’t get the catalyst back when it was available might not get to enjoy the buffs as much as those who did. Even then, though, these changes could shift the meta a lot even if this is a fusion rifle Season.

Season of the Lost has been a bit lackluster up to now, with activities like Legend Shattered Realm and Legend Astral Alignment being unrewarding. This calls for something great when December 7 comes, and buffs to underused Exotic weapons and armor pieces could be what the game needs to refuel for a few more months.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
