While the full loot pool is not quite known yet—it’s assumed that the Substitutional Alloy armor sets that are part of the season pass, for example, will also drop in Vex Offensive—but what is clear is that there are four weapons that are completely exclusive to Vex Offensive. If players want these weapons, the only way to get them will be tied to the Vex Offensive activity.

From the Destiny 2 database it appears that to get these weapons, they will not just simply drop from Vex Offensive. Instead, there are two quest items associated with each of these weapons. The first is called Data Input, which tasks players with defeating Vex anywhere in the game to “program the simulation pattern.” Then there’s Execute Function, which reads “Breach the Black Garden and stall the Vex Offensive. Disrupt their incursion networks, destroy the boss, and claim the spoils.” It appears that players may be able to pick up a Data Input for the particular weapon they want, kind of how weapon frames worked in Black Armory. Then, charge it by killing Vex, and then when they play Vex Offensive, they will be able to control which exact weapon will drop, sort of like The Reckoning or the Menagerie’s Chalice. Again, this is all speculation until the mode actually appears in the game.
Regardless of how exactly they are earned, these four weapons are specifically tied to Vex Offensive:
Optative Hand Cannon
The Optative is a Precision Frame 180 RPM hand cannon, a class of hand cannon that is very popular on consoles, in particular. It is the same archetype as Service Revolver, Trust, and the original Luna’s Howl/Not Forgotten. Its stats are actually almost nearly identical to Service Revolver, which is a popular hand cannon in PvP on consoles.

The Imperative scout rifle is a High-Impact Frame, which is one of the slower firing and harder-hitting scout rifles. While scout rifles have not been very popular in Destiny 2, the changeup of weapon damage that came with Shadowkeep will likely shake up the meta a bit, so players will have to see how viable this type of scout rifle is as the Season of the Undying progresses.
