Blue Engrams have always been another pet peeve of Destiny 2 players, and with the way the game has evolved in terms of possible loot from endgame content, this has become even more of an issue. As a matter of fact, running Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes several times can shower players in crafting materials like Ascendant Shards and Enhancement Prisms, which unfortunately have a cap of 10 and 50 respectively in the inventory. As such, excess materials go to the Postmaster, who after getting a bunch of items eventually deletes permanently the oldest ones, making blue Engrams dangerous drops on top of being unwanted.

A Reddit user called Impressive_Sea4211 came up with a genius idea to solve the issue with a quick change. The player suggests that the recently introduced Shoot to Loot perk, designed to allow players to shoot at ammo bricks to pick them up from a distance, could do the same with blue Engrams. Impressive_Sea4211’s idea doesn’t stop there, and the suggestion is to let Shoot to Loot also dismantle blue Engrams on the spot, providing the corresponding value in Glimmer and Gunsmith Materials.
This would allow Destiny 2 players to dispose of unwanted loot immediately, thus providing a reasonable solution to the Postmaster problem. Furthermore, the interaction would instantly make Shoot to Loot a very fun and valuable perk to have on any gun, albeit maybe in lower-end activities or in situations where getting ammo bricks might be dangerous. However, this idea seems very unlikely to ever be implemented.
This is not the first time the community shares hilarious and effective ideas for Bungie to add to Destiny 2, such as the Telesto ornament counting the days since its last glitch. Still, the issue with blue Engrams remains, and it is something that should be addressed at some point before The Witch Queen drops.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
